Role Summary:

Your role will include designing, supporting and maintaining all system databases across operations, development and reporting. A combination of system administration skills and an understanding of customer needs will be crucial to success.

Responsibilities of this job will include:

• Database administration activities of MySQL5 databases
• Optimisation, support and maintenance of the existing database infrastructure across production and reporting instances through:
• Database maintenance and optimisation
• Development of operational reporting systems
• Development of systems to support operations
• Writing stored procedures, functions, triggers
• Writing more complex queries for specialised requirements on current and new projects
• Ensuring that data sources cater for demands of ad hoc extracts
• Operations and maintenance of standard, routine queries
• Additional tasks related to data extracts, automated operations and SQL queries as required
• Assist with queries to support both business projects, operational and informational needs
• Recommendations to the development team on the SQL structure used in code
• Architecture and design recommendations and implementations, in terms of future expansion
• Documentation as required

Requirements:

• IT Related Degree/ diploma
• At least 5 years of MySQL DBA experience
• Experience in high transactional development environments.
• Experience of working in n-Tier, Client Server and Database environment as well as experience with Open source/Linex development and production environments.
