An IT company is looking for a dynamic, creative, self-motivated individual to join their web development team. The successful candidate will report to the team’s development manager and will be responsible for developing new websites, updating existing client websites and managing website content. Applicants should provide a portfolio of recent work in support of an application for this position.

Responsibilities will include:

• Updating website content as required
• Pro-active management of website content
• Liaising with clients on website updates
• Ensuring that web pages conform to good web design principles and usability standards
• Deciding how images and other material will be optimised and presented on the web
• Working with an in-house designer on new projects
• Implementing stylesheets and designs
• Testing cross-browser functionality
• Analysing website reports (WebTrends)
• Keeping internal press archive up to date

Experience and Skills:

• 3 – 4 years’ experience working with a variety of websites
• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Excellent HTML and XHTML skills
• Excellent working knowledge of CSS-based design
• Some Javascript knowledge would be advantageous
• Knowledge of SEO principles
• Understanding of IIS and ASP / .Net website structures
• Good knowledge of graphics design package (eg Photoshop) in order to produce basic layouts and manipulate images
• Experience with using content management systems a definite advantage
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – the successful candidate will be required to liaise with clients, discuss requirements and make recommendations
• High level of creativity
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work on multiple projects and adhere to deadlines
• Ability to work independently while being part of a team environment
